Thank you for your interest in these unique opportunities with the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, the special purpose vehicle established to deliver jobs and housing as part of the Government's Sustainable Communities Plan.

The Corporation is committed to providing the strong leadership needed to ensure the range of organisations active in our area deliver in a co-ordinated fashion, maximise their impact and accelerate the delivery of outcomes. Examples of this approach can be seen on key projects such as the Lower Lea Valley Park and Prescott Lock with the Olympic Delivery Authority

Securing long lasting benefits for existing and new communities in east London is our core objective. We are committed to promoting good quality, well designed and sustainable developments as well as securing excellent public services and expanding training and employment opportunities.

In order to achieve our objectives we will continue to need the enthusiastic support of our sponsor, Communities and Local Government (CLG). Their funding is enabling us to make significant interventions and, as a result, we are demonstrating to government just what can be achieved in very challenging areas with the right approach and adequate resources.

We also need ambitious people who can promote our vision, focus its delivery, maintain strong relationships with our partners and stakeholders and create a strong identity for the Corporation … and that's where you come in. You will need to be as passionate for regeneration and the area as we are, putting the Thames Gateway firmly on the map as an area of sustainable growth.

This will require outstanding candidates and our expectations will be high, but by bringing creativity and energy to your role, you will develop and deliver strategies that will leave behind a lasting and prosperous legacy for the future.

Given the scale of our development projects, you will need to be prepared to make a difference in the London Thames Gateway region as you will have a shared responsibility for ensuring that the Corporation achieves its objectives. This will not be a small endeavour - you will be dealing with large, complex development issues and working closely with other departments, the Executive team and a range of other stakeholders to secure investment and successful outcomes beneficial to the future of the region, with responsibility for delivering and promoting high quality exemplar schemes.
